The treatment process
Patients considering Arthrosamid usually want to understand exactly what happens, how long it takes, and what recovery looks like. The process below is typical across clinics in our network. The treating clinician will confirm details specific to your appointment.

Step 1: Suitability quiz
Answer a few quick questions to see whether this treatment may be worth exploring for your symptoms. No obligation, no commitment.
Step 2: Consultation
A specialist consultation reviews your symptoms, examines your knee, discusses your imaging (you may be asked to bring scans), and talks through your treatment goals. Together with the clinician, you determine whether Arthrosamid or another approach is the right next step.
Consultations typically last around 30 to 45 minutes.
Step 3: The injection (if appropriate)
The injection itself takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes. It is performed as an outpatient procedure under ultrasound guidance, and most patients leave the clinic the same day.
Local anaesthetic is used to numb the area before the injection. Most patients report only mild discomfort during the procedure.
Step 4: Recovery
Most patients return to normal activities within a few days. Gentle movement is encouraged from day one. Strenuous activity should be avoided for the first couple of weeks.
Many patients report improvement within the first few weeks, with maximum benefit typically developing over 2 to 3 months as the hydrogel integrates into the knee joint lining. Individual experiences vary.
Step 5: Follow-up
Most clinics in our network include a follow-up appointment to review your progress.
